An air conditioner draws in room air, passes it over a cold, wet exchanger and blows it back. Everything the air carries settles there: dust, pollen, and in the damp of the evaporator, mould. After a summer or two, the smell on start-up, the loss of power and the higher consumption come from that, not from a fault.
The service brings the unit back to clean: filters, evaporator, fan wheel, condensate tray and drain indoors, exchanger and fan outdoors. We then check supply temperatures and general condition, and tell you if anything needs a refrigeration engineer.
We do not open the refrigerant circuit. Topping up gas or finding a leak is reserved for an F-gas certified technician: if the service shows it is needed, we say so and quote it separately, rather than selling a clean to a unit that is short of gas.

One price per system, published before you book, with no questionnaire to fill in to get it. The call-out is included within our area. Anything out of the ordinary — a lot of valves, an unreachable unit, a system never opened — we tell you before the visit, never on the invoice.

What the service covers
Filters and front panel
Removal, washing or replacement of filters, cleaning of the front panel and air louvres.
Evaporator and fan wheel
Cleaning of the indoor exchanger and fan wheel with a suitable product, with the room protected. That is where the smell and the airflow loss live.
Disinfection
Treatment of evaporator and tray against mould and bacteria, with a product made for air conditioners, leaving no residue in the supply air.
Condensate tray and drain
Tray cleaned, drain unblocked, lift pump checked where fitted. A blocked drain always ends up running down the wall.
Outdoor unit
Exchanger dusted, fan checked, surroundings cleared. A fouled outdoor exchanger makes the compressor work for nothing.
Operating check
Supply and return temperatures, noise, vibration, remote control and programming. You receive a written report with the readings.

Booking
State the number of indoor units. The price shown is what you pay; beyond three units or for a ducted system, ask for a quote.

The visit
Allow an hour for a mono-split, half an hour per extra unit. Floor and furniture are protected, the unit is cleaned in place.

Check and report
Restart, temperature readings, written report. If cooling does not return on a clean unit, it points to low refrigerant: we refer you to a refrigeration engineer.
Frequently asked questions
How much does air conditioning servicing cost?
One price by number of indoor units, shown on this page and on the pricing page: a mono-split, then two or three units on a multi-split. Travel, disinfection and the report are included. Beyond three units, for ducted systems or offices, we quote.
Do you top up the refrigerant?
No. Opening the refrigerant circuit is reserved for F-gas certified technicians, and a properly installed unit does not lose gas: if it is short, there is a leak to find. If the service shows cooling does not return on a clean unit, we tell you and refer you to a refrigeration engineer.
How often should an air conditioner be serviced?
Once a year, before summer, for a unit that only cools. Twice a year if it also heats in winter. Between services, rinsing the filters every month of use is enough, and we show you how.
Does the service fix the smell?
In the vast majority of cases, yes: the smell comes from mould on the evaporator and in the tray, which is exactly what cleaning and disinfection treat. If it comes back very quickly, the condensate drain is probably the cause, and we check that too.
Can it be combined with the ventilation service?
Yes, on the same day, and it makes sense: it is the same air. Book both services on the same slot or tell us through the form, and we combine the trip.
