Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions that come up most. If yours is not here, we want to hear it — just ask.

General

Is the quote really free?

Yes. Producing a quote from your description costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. For a building or a complex installation, a survey visit is needed before pricing: we tell you in advance whether that visit is free or chargeable, and on what terms it is deducted from the work.

How quickly do you reply?

We handle form enquiries within 24 working hours. Enquiries arriving at the weekend or on a public holiday are handled on the next working day. For a breakdown or a complete loss of ventilation, the phone is faster.

Do you work outside the list of municipalities?

The published list covers the municipalities where we work most often. If you are close by, get in touch: we will tell you honestly whether the journey is reasonable, rather than billing for an excessive trip.

Do you work with managing agents and property managers?

Yes, it is a significant part of our work. We provide a schedule per riser or floor, an individual report per unit and a consolidated summary for the owners' meeting.

Ventilation

How often should ventilation be serviced?

Manufacturers generally recommend a filter check every 3 to 6 months and a full service once a year. The real interval depends on your surroundings: a busy road, pets, recent building works and an open-plan kitchen all speed up fouling considerably.

Is ventilation servicing mandatory in Belgium?

No. Unlike periodic boiler inspection, servicing residential ventilation is not required by regulation. That does not make it optional technically: an unserviced system loses airflow gradually without giving any signal.

How do I know whether my ventilation still works properly?

The paper test against an extract valve catches outright failures. To know whether airflow is sufficient and not merely present, you need a flow meter reading compared with NBN D50-001 values. Our calculator gives you those reference values.

Can you work on a system installed by someone else?

Yes, that is the most common case. We start with a measured survey, so we do not adopt unverified assumptions about a system we do not know.

Practical

What does a visit actually involve?

A time slot confirmed in advance, floor protection, measuring equipment. You have nothing to prepare beyond clearing access to the unit and the valves. At the end, we go through what was done and what to keep an eye on.

Do I need to be there the whole time?

Your presence is useful at the start, to describe the problem, and at the end, for the report handover. In between it is not necessary. For a building, we agree access arrangements with the managing agent.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment terms appear on your quote and invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within thirty days of the invoice date.

Do you provide a written report every time?

Yes, as standard: condition found, readings taken, parts replaced and recommendations. It is a technical document you can hand to any other professional — which is precisely the point.

Our services

We work on mechanical ventilation and nothing else. Every service starts with a measurement and ends with a written report.
